July 4, 2012 Rapid City S.D.

Rapid City South Dakota has bronze statues galore.  Today we walked around town and got photos of all the bronze statues of  U.S  Presidents..up to now.  Obama has not been done and donated by anyone yet.  They are downtown on each street corner.  We also visited memorials of several wars and  sections of the Berlin Wall.  Crossing a cool bridge in Memorial Park we saw this bike down in the water.  We took  photos of  statues in other sections of town....and photos of "old town America " main street.   All the classic old buildings, including the old fire station, with the old  place names permanently on them have been repurposed as  quaint  stores and restaurants.  It was incredibly windy today.  You can see how windy by the flag and my hair !!!  Because of the dry conditions,fires and winds in the area, fireworks are banned here this year...we shall see...

South Dakota adventures

We had a Great morning in Wall South Dakota ..in Wall Drug Store...and had a great lunch there.    The afternoon  in Keystone S.D &  Mt. Rushmore.   Dinner again at Golden Corral...delicious !  The Black Hills are Beautiful, and I finally got to see them and get my real, gorgeous Black Hills Gold ring I have wanted  for a long time !!

I am just proving I was there..even though I didn't realize I was seeing  my daughters OR my nieces run to the finish line  !!  June 9th 2012 Provo Utah Marathon

June 8th to June 16th

We went to Utah for the Provo 1/2 marathon Shannon and Abigail were running !!  I feel so bad I didn't even recognize them running in at the finish line !  I must be getting old...dadu didn't recognize them either !  We had  three of our children and their families including 12 of our grand kids around for the week after the run.  It was nice.  I really enjoyed Thursday evening when April said, Let's go to a movie and see" Mirror,Mirror"  at the $3.50 ,movie theater in Pleasant Grove.  She said that about 5:15 p.m...So spontaneous !!  By 6:10 p.m. Bill and I, Nathan and April and Shannon had stopped by Wendy's and gotten something to eat..and were sitting in the theater eating a huge $3.00 tub of popcorn ...fast ..so we could get a $1.00 refill before the movie started !  Thanks for the fun evening Nathan and April  and the movie was good  !!  Thanks for babysitting Rachel and Hannah !!!  We stayed with Dee and Eddie again, thanks guys !!.  You have the best B&B in Orem !  It is so quiet and calm with food, bottled water,entertainment...and garage parking !  It was a nice vacation [except for all the little ones having hand,foot,mouth disease.].thanks everyone !
