I and A live here too

We are really enjoying having our son I. and his wife A .live here with us while he finishes his clinicals. They are very useful..not just decorative !! They are very quiet too. They cook even...and do dishes. Having a great time !!

Dadu is now officially Manager of safety for the Pacific area.........He has been detailed to it for 3 months. They interviewed 5 for it I think and offered it to him. .Basically it means more pay and more stress..but when he retires he gets more $$.
I shall go work on a sparkly white and pink dress Maddie has requested for her birthday.

.R.S. retreat

Friday May 21st at 4 p.m. to Saturday the 22nd till 4 p.m. our ward had a R.S. retreat at an awesome 3 story log cabin owned by someone in the stake ...in the Mt's. of Julian Ca....It was nice that as you walked in the door you saw the chalkboard with the ground rules displayed..
No man-bashing
No whining
No gossiping
No politic-ing
We had a great retreat with ALOT of game playing, getting to know other sisters and their talents...but we could do whatever we wanted, so Fri. nite at 10:15 I went to my futon and read a nice mindless novel..Dorothy Gillman 's "Kaleidoscope" the last group went to bed after 1 a.m. ..In the morning 8 of us went on a nice walk..very hilly...saw lots of burned out cabins and black trees from previous fires..beautiful wildflowers, great views etc..it was 41 degrees and windy..In the night it was WAY WINDY..and foggy going down the mountain..for those who didn't spend the night.
We had a great devotional about positive affirmations and then a guest speaker..the wife of a counselor in our stake presidency. She talked about getting personal revelation for our own challenges in life...her hardest so far was when she had 3 little children , just got called as primary president of 150 children, found out she was pregnant, found out she had breast cancer, and her husband got called as Bishop. In her talk I remember this line.." The Lord can't direct our paths if we aren't moving our feet." I had a nice retreat !!

solatube rebellion

Today the Solatube guy came ...I no longer have a cave in my house !!! It is unbelievable !! You can see yourself in the mirror in the big bathroom also without even trying !!! I have my own sunshine in the middle of my great room !.................................I recommend them HIGHLY for bathrooms with no window !!!!!!!!!!!! The difference is amazing and instant..and they take about an hour to install. I will see if the before and after photos came out later and try to post them. I am dizzy and barfy..I need food...NOW.

Sunday was Mother's day, Isaac's graduation as a DPT ..[doctor of physical therapy] and Amy's birthday.......we celebrated with lasagna on paper plates with plastic forks in an empty apartment in Virginia. We also had lots of left over desserts from a going away party of Amy's the night before. Dadu and I had a great week...will share more later. We are home, we pick up the Dr. tonight at the airport...they are staying for 3 months..they have an apt. on UCLA campus August 9th..and Isaac's last clinicals will be done here.[he starts tomorrow a mile or so up the street from our house]

The shower is not finished...quikcrete as grout in deep holes takes awhile to dry..I can not silicone yet...tomorrow ........grout silicone and caulk before we leave for our son's graduation !!
Last night we gave our money in support of our boy scout troup and watched an LDS production called Stones at the ampitheatre at the park across the street from our church...[at least we try to do different things !! ] Other people's interpretation of scripture really doesn't do it for us....but hey, Chipotle for lunch made the day worthwhile !!
Friday night we went to Ikea and got a 4 bar swing- towel holder for the cave bathroom so I can take down the two the old lady before us used as grab bars to get off the toilet.....I have already taken the door off the bathroom .I hung fabric on an Ikea wire rod system to give some room and air movement in the cave bathroom !!
