The Pictures of the End Results of Yesterday's Adventure

The new water heater snuggly fitted in its new home!

Emergency supplies neatly stacked and packed.
Or big tent is hiding behind the bottles of water.

Another view of the storage rack.
See the wheels on the rack.
If we have to go to Missouri we can push it.

I was going to do as little as possible today...

I was going to do as little as possible today, and then my delightful wife suggested we go look at shelving/storage units at Sam's Club. My car needed gas so we went. We looked at Sam's Club saw some we liked and some we didn't. Went to Wal-Mart, didn't see any particularly wonderful. Went to Home Depot and then Lowe's but they had only plastic or units with particle board shelves. So we tried this place that gets returns from Costco and found one similar to a Sam's Club model that my wife had liked best. It was only $58.00 instead of $100.00 so we bought it and brought it home. Time: 12 noon. I was ready for lunch.
When I opened the garage so we could begin putting it together I noticed I was standing in water. Oh-oh. I said that the washer tub must have overflowed. Nope! We moved things away from the washer and started looking for the leak. None there. As we moved things away from the water heater there we saw a steady drip coming from the bottom of the water heater. Oh no! Yep, the water heater had given its last.
I called my sister and then asked my brother-in-law if he could come out and help me replace it. Shor'nuf! So while waiting for him I looked for water heaters on-line. My wife called a friend to borrow their pick-up. Everything arranged E and I went to Home Depot and bought a brand-spanking new water heater. We drove home, pulled out the old one, set the new one in place. While E made the final adjustments to the water heater I took the pick-up back. When I returned we turned on the water, turned on the gas and lit the pilot light. NOT!
We tried everything. Unfortunately the new water heaters use an internal ignition sparker and not matches and the ignition wouldn't. We called the manufacturer's service number, did everything they said to do, nothing. We called Home Depot and went through the same procedure, nothing. We called a friend who does maintenance and he could think of no way around it. Home Depot said 'Bring it back.' E started disconnecting everything. My wife called the friend and asked if we could borrow the truck again. I went to get the truck, E had the water heater ready to go when I got back. We returned it, got an exchange and brought it back home. This went in the same as the last one, but the pilot light lit and we are back in business. Whew! I returned the truck. Time: 4:47pm
While I was getting the truck the second time my wife and E began the assembly of the shelfing unit. It is just what she wanted. It is now ensconced in the garage with all of our emergency supplies except the propane tank we picked up on clearance at Sam's Club today. It is still empty. Just didn't find time to go get it filled.

Yesterday we went to the memorial service for Dale Kinnick...it was well attended...there is a website if you have any memories of Dale you want to share with their family..they love hearing memories...it is www.MeM.com.
There is a new LDS website that is youth-oriented at ABrandNewYear.lds.org or via a link through lds.org...........it is a multimedia supplement with MP3 music downloads...from a special program.
An article in the church news called" Challenges test our courage "said some of these things......... Everyone remember, challenges test our courage !!! "Courage " appears 41 times in the scriptures. In almost every instance, other phrases in the verse give us a clearer view of the circumstances surrounding "courage"; "
be strong," "valiant," "be not afraid" and fear not."
There is little call for courage in easy situations or trouble free times. Comfortable lives require no courage Undemanding times provide no seedbed for its growth. While hard times are usually unwelcome, they may be precisely what is needed to nurture courage. Challenges provide the framework for the growth of the most desperately needed virtues, not the least of which is courage. HANG IN THERE EVERYONE !!!!

It's over !!!

Today I got the privilege of talking in Sacrament mtg...Oh, yay...I did that 16 weeks ago...I feel about it like Matt's T shirt...it says" 99% Nephi 1%Laman
I will go and do, but I will murmur all the way" Lots of people thanked me for my good talk though..........I sweat these things big time !! Bro. Grow said he wished his whole family had been there to hear it. Bro. VanBuskirk said he loves talks from the heart and mine was.
My assigned scripture was 1 Nephi 10:19..plus personal experiences.
Dadu is in Frisco this next week....bye now

organizing

We found a good file cabinet at a thrift store and I bought it with the intention of putting fabric in it..my husband said he wanted it because he was not happy with the lateral file cabinet he had in his office...so we traded and ...I LOVE THE LATERAL FILE !!! I also figured out to roll the fabric to fit and label the roll with the amount in the roll and the width....full bolts of 60 " wide fit across the drawer...all my patterns fit in it...and now I can actually see what I have and know where it is !!! [ I hate to admit that I have another legal size file cabinet in the garage also full of solid dark fabrics rolled the same way ]...now at least I know what I have and won't buy out of frustration because I can't find what I need !!! I am set for Quite some time !!! I haven't got much else done for a few days though !!...........my computer is acting up and won't let me in and / or post too often lately..

We bugged E until he'd had enough of us and we went home to bed. Today we had a nice breakfast, watched the Rose parade on TV...I love parades... we hit a few stores and used 2 free coupons for lunch ...thanks to A's mom...and then read books, wrote thank you notes...rearranged rooms[ back to a sewing room for me.].and now we are on computers..............boring old people stuff..........The pie should be cool enough to eat soon.......
You know...for being such a problem in E's life...he and S sure gave us a nice Christmas gift...A 4 piece rechargeable tool set in a nice case !!!
I feel spoiled rotten by my family for Christmas !!! I love it !!
Keep doing your best, do what is right, eat right , exercise, read your scriptures, say your prayers, be prudent with your finances and it will all work out alright !!! We love ya !!!
