The earthquake was interesting and rattle-y.........I was lying on my mom's couch reading while waiting for the telephone repair guy and thought...okay...interesting..it set the grandfather clock chiming and the other wall clock doing noises. It probably made that crack in the wall by the front door bigger......I didn't get home to check on things until about 4:30 p.m. after mom's phone got fixed...lots of cupboard doors open and things on bathroom ledges fell..some books fell ..several things in the garage fell .[it is so messy it's hard to tell though.] All is well.. thanks for your concern everyone..

Earthquake, July 29, 2008

Yes, we did have an earthquake, centered southwest of Chino Hills. I am currently in Santa Clarita and we felt it here pretty good. Namma is waiting for the telephone repair guy at her mother's house so she wasn't at home. I don't get home until tomorrow so I don't know what I can expect.

Utah

I just got home from the reunion an hour ago..all went well..My husband is working out of town so no photos yet because I don't know how..I did take a bunch this last week..Thursday I spent with my second son and family..we went to SLC to Liberty park and watched the 24th parade..then went through the aviary that was free that day only..there are a lot of weird birds out there...then we screened Sam's club for a trampoline for my oldest son..got pizza and hung out at my son's house...I stayed there that night..early Friday I went to find my youngest daughter's apt. I looked everywhere and ..I could not find the east address..I was on the north one...finally I called her from a bowling alley and she said..oh, it is Adam's street..I can see the bowling alley from here...It was fun spending the day with her and her daughter..Saturday was reunion day..I found the western decorations and got them there...yard sales mostly..it was fun..I find yard sales entertaining..
On the way home from the reunion my oldest son and family and I stopped at Sam's club and he bought their 15 foot trampoline that the kids had finally earned with chores and reading etc...and we put it up that evening amid an awesome thunder and lightening storm...okay...when it got raining hard we all bailed but my son..he crouched under it when the worst rain came...he got totally soaked.
on Sunday I went to my sister's ward as she had two sons talking in church..they both did excellent...M just got back from a mission and he still glows...he is awesome...
I had promised N's kids I would go to their church too..except I neglected to ask where it was...they are on every other corner or so in Utah..so I started looking at the ones around their house and at the fourth one I found their car..
Sunday night we all met at my eldest son's house... we ..meaning my second son and youngest daughter and their spouses and kids..the ones who live in Utah...we had a nice dinner..A is a great cook..N has a great carport to party under in any weather..it was fun..then played games inside...and had dessert..Monday morn I picked up mom and we left for home at 6 a.m....uneventful trip home...we did get a break when we stopped to visit my cousin in Cedar city..she was very gracious about us showing up with no notice !!
It was all fun...I rewarded myself with chocolate milk for a great trip..

busy week

So it is like this..last Wed. S, M , L, and D, came to visit..my eldest daughter, husband and boys...I did a bunch of babysitting so they could accomplish what they needed to..visit his mom in the hospital,go to the temple and beach...babysitting outside the temple so they could go in.. a brother's kids too...they needed to be there for photos after...we had fun visiting both grandmas Sunday with them. I watched D Monday and they spent the ENTIRE day at Disneyland with all the family except the bride and groom and without his mom of course..to get their moneys worth...they had fun...today they left about 1 p.m. and just called about 8 p.m. to say they got home fine with D crying for like 4 hours of it...can't say I miss those days !! When they left I sewed the last king costume..purple and gold ..cape...glittery blue,red,purple,fabric undertunic with awesome huge gold lined sleeves...then I packed the car..literally...A ,my youngest daughter asked if I could bring the crib as her daughter is sleeping in a packnplay and it is too small really..so that is between the front and back seats...and a file cabinet full..is on the back seat...with stuff packed on and around it..The trunk is full of reunion decorations. luggage, more stuff for kids and grandkids etc...I collect stuff all the time at yard sales for my kids and grandkids..I find GOOD stuff they need and don't have the money for...cheap !!.I collect it in the garage and make these runs occasionally...in the morning my mom and I are heading to her family reunion in Utah..Dampa is in Fresno this week for work..Let the next adventure begin !!

company

Well the air got fixed...I had a bad capaciter ...which never goes out supposedly..........so .........$302.89 later it was cool when M and S,L and D showed up yesterday afternoon. I picked up a little Lightening Mcqueen bike with training wheels at a yardsale. L rides it while I push D in the stroller..it helps disipate energy as needed... L did scrape up his knee this morning when he went outside before anyone could follow him...it just takes 10 seconds ....the bubbling hydrogen peroxide was freaky to him......
My company is here for a week... M's brother S gets married Sat....sometime they are dressing up and going to the hospital so his mom can see the wedding look..right now M,S,L,and D have just gone to the hospital to see her..they believe the kids can get in...she is in intensive care..
I am procrastinating sewing some more by playing on my computer..I tell ya, this thing is addictive...

Hello...................dampa is out of town for work and I am reading blogs...not much going on here...tomorrow M. and S.,L .and D. are coming for a week for M."s little brother's wedding and to see M.'s dying mother.........I should be sewing costumes for my sister R.'s request for Christmas pageant costumes...the kings are cut out and waiting..I am a procrastinator I confess...it may not be painting hot pink rooms with green polkadots but...we all procrastinate in our own ways I am sure .. oh ya..my air conditioning went out yesterday...oh were they ever happy.........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I have a message in to the local air place...we'll see if they get back to me by noon..if not I better find a new place...I have become rather fond of air conditioning on this HOT weather...Have a SWELL day all.........

Hello family and friends...I was in the Pasadena Hilton a couple of weeks ago and the difference between that hotel and this [new as of November 2007] Embassy Suites in Valencia is the difference between night and day !! Dampa is here for of work of course, and he invited me along . The pool is the view from our 4th floor window. Too much furniture cluttering the place up but other than that it is real nice.

Hello, world! We have joined the 21st Century (kicking and screaming by dado)

We really have little to say at this time...I just picked up the right frame for my " castles in the sky" poster ...I find them cheap at thriftstores..I carry around my measurements and info. for what I am looking for until I find ...THE ONE...it took me since Christmas to find the correct one for this poster...but it is good !!!

I finished my 6 weeks of beginner computer classes at the senior center...and didn't sign up for more because I am not sure I can make it to them the next 6 weeks.maybe after that...or maybe just mess around more on the computer and see what I figure out !!

Last week I took care of grandchildren numbers 4 and 9 while S went to symposiums for work at the Pasadena Hilton............all young mothers out there....I APPLAUD YOU AND YOUR EFFORTS !!! GOOD JOB ...WELL DONE...AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT CARE OF OUR GRANDCHILDREN !!!
