Saturday adventure Old Town San Diego

The Mormon Battalion Historical site in Old town San Diego..grand opening today...I didn't take any photos inside but it so reminds me of Disneyland..with the fake upper balconies and such...Pirates of the Caribbean

same location as the old visitor's center..same foundation but very re done ! We did not get in to see the movie..the first available tickets were for 3 hours later...we will go later when we can stay for reruns and pick out Nathan and our son in law's brother.

This is the new window day..8 and 1/2 hours of two men working on my house. Lots of photos in no order to follow.

Yesterday we got new Atrium windows installed...8 1/2 hours later the two guys left !! I do not like workers in my house...ever....but, hey, I survived. I had to take down curtains...the bedroom curtains were in the house when we came but I liked them so I kept them up....I washed them and the back layer disintegrated big time...there is white "snow" outside from the dryer vent...so, while men were in my house I picked them apart because the front layer is still nice and I like it , and I relined them.............it kept the anxiety down ! This morning I pulled the blind up and like that window just open..so, maybe the curtains will hang on the sides to help cut the echo...this house is big on ECHO !!!

Today is beautiful...the sky is SOOOOO BLUE..The Sunbeams were more manageable today. We home taught a nice free spirit lady with fun taste in decorating, and tried to find another one who didn't wish to be found..we had choir practice after church too. Tonight we are invited to dinner at the Bishop's house...I was going to be brave and have someone over to have dinner with us once a month...I am running out of month and the bravery level is still low.....

We have changed that round light..and I have painted the utility room back there white too...and got a counter heighth chair for the counter.[the thrift store ]..I guess I could take a new photo...sometime.

Sunday at stake conference they challenged us to make health care kits for Haiti and bring them down Tuesday night to be boxed and sent....that resulted in 1300 kits according to email..not bad for 3 days. I love LDS responses !

It is pouring rain,has been all night and will all day...the ground is already totally saturated so it will be interesting to see what nature's swimming pool in my back yard will do !! The only dry spot is on top of the picnic table and one bench in the back yard under the patio cover.. so I put the old rocking chair up there along with my valentine flag and decorations that were blowing around;they are under the rocking chair to hold them down. We have a bunch of stuff for DI out there covered with plastic...we'll have to see what is usable when these storms are over...it is just frustrating because you have to make an appointment to take them to the DI pod at the stake center...the lock on that thing is BIG time !!! Such adventures !!! I think staying home and sewing today is a great idea !!

We had stake conference yesterday on the big screen..88 stakes in So. Calif. did. Pres. Uchtdorf spoke...I loved how he said" as a child CTR means choose the right..as an adult it should mean current temple recommend since that encompasses the other" ! Br. Holland spoke on forgiving yourself for the dumb things you do and move on, you are better than you know !! Forgive others and unburden yourself . Quit beating yourself up !!..........When I talked to Seth he had a great quote from his church yesterday..."Jesus did not say be ye therefore a perfectionist !! It was a great Sunday...I didn't have to humor any Sunbeams either !!

Tonight we played..take out the refrigerator because it is not freezing or getting very cold..[after Eddie so thoughtfully changed the door handles to the other side..........rude of it I tell ya ].......and bring in the one from the garage that was left in the house...which we plugged into an outlet in the garage last night to get cold............and take the non- working -right -one into the back yard until we can get rid of it. THEN.........put together the shelf reliance can storage rack that arrived today and load it with ALOT of cans..it is cool... Oh, ya, today I sanded, tsp washed, rinsed, primed and painted the very YELLOW utility room walls white in preparation of setting up of the shelf reliance rack...........our adventures are just different than most peoples....but we do have them !!

A new year...new sunbeams...

I get to be a Sunbeam teacher..today I had one crybaby, one NO attitude and one let's get crazy...all boys..none of the girls showed up. I had the other class with me for the actual lesson because the other teacher wasn't ready for that...she just got called too..these little 3 year olds don't know how to sit down and cooperate yet so we don't get to go into sharing time or anything..we did join nursery for snack time and outside time.....2 hours is a LONG time.....and I get to do it every Sunday !!! The family history center is supposed to re open Jan. 5th..so, I guess I get to learn that calling soon too !! Oh, I did get my kitchen painted white...hallelujah !!! I got up a phone shelf and a leaded glass window ..[.not anywhere It can reflect light..but It works as a mirror some times of the day]..and a couple magnetic strips...and a broom holder by the fridge..I am slowly fixing up stuff how I like it !!! I have to paint the utility room this week after I sand and wash and rinse it down...it is wwwwwaaaayyyy too yellow now that the kitchen looks so nice !!! probably tomorrow...my 600 max can capacity Shelf Reliance rack is due to arrive soon and it goes in that room. DAILY ADVENTURES !!! YES !!!
