head bonker cabinet removal

This is what I did today... these are the after pictures..I still need to finish, caulk, paint etc...but I LOVE having that cabinet gone from the kitchen !! I am so NOT a makeup person so I did NOT need a vanity,but I can always use more storage..and this is the most unobtrusive place for it !!

I had to cut the cabinet down to fit under the corian counter..but I didn't want to mess up the front much so I cut it down from the top..it was a fun project !!

Merry Christmas from Sacramento Calif....at our eldest daughter's home...with 3 little boys to be amusing for us !!! It has been fun !!!!
The 2 year old is about as 2 as they come..and ssoooo BOY. The 4 month old is a little angel !!! The 4 year old is 4 going on 12...Our daughter and her husband are a very kind host and hostess ..I am on dadu's new laptop computer...
The ham just got put into the oven...we had cinnamon rolls this morning..thanks to our daughter and Pillsbury.... havin fun here ....

Today I got the rest of the cardboard into the trash...and some leaves and the last dead citrus branches into the green waste cans..and started on the evergreen stuff in the front yard that is a hedge and about a foot out onto the sidewalk...I will slowly get it off the sidewalk and it will look incredibly ugly..but it is a great barrier on a corner lot to keep people from cutting the corner...the slope up also helps with that from the other street side....then I escaped on a field trip to Lake Elsinore outlet stores until time to pick up dadu at the airport.

Sundays are crazy busy this month..we are in our ward choir singing next week...and we are practicing in a two stake choir for a program we are putting on in the Escondido theater of the performing arts...back to back performances Dec. 22nd...they sell out every year apparently..music, dance a Dickens thing etc...a radio theme this year...real musicians are in charge...half the time I don't have a clue what they are even saying...good thing there are alot of us.......it's good to hide in the group !!
I got curtains up in both ends of the great room that match..so it looks much warmer and planned.They are a solid brown woven polyester..love that good fabric by the bolt from
walmart I got at $1.00 a yard back when......Ross curtain rods for $12.99 for nice metal double rods was nice too................Bill figured out how to block the mechanism in my fabric lateral file cabinet that kept locking it on me....now I can get back to real life projects hopefully....
Saturday on the way home from Sam's Club I picked up a nice floral rug for my little room at a yard sale..it is 6'6"x7'7......for $25.oo..I talked em down from $45.00 they wanted.
Today I got my Christmas cards done and ready to mail...crock potted dinner so we could run in after church eat fast and get to the church for the Presidents' devotional before the 2 hour choir practice...every Sunday night this month until the performance...
The backyard is starting to look less like a jungle...I put strychnine tablets in several fresh gopher holes..hopefully that kills something...it looks like we were using them to rototill there are so many mounds !! I did get the packing paper piles thrown away and piles of stuff to the D.I. pod at the stake center..........always something....such adventures !!! Tomorrow we have elders to dinner ...Tues.evening I am picking up a new gal in the ward to take to the R.S. party at some one's house..she wasn't comfortable with the idea of going so I told her I would take her..actually she moved in the same time we did but she isn't putting on the brave front I am...but I am old and she is young and has more time to pussy foot around ..........have a swell day everyone !!!

internet finally made it to my house !!!

Hello world...........I am newly back online...today Dec. 1st..but I took dadu to work, went to the temple and then goofed off all day shopping and looking.....picked up dadu at work, came home...had dinner then went grocery shopping..so I just got on and it is almost bedtime...but HI !!!..........we did get moved into this " new to us " house on Nov. 9th...we are almost organized now..it is to the hanging things on walls stage...I have not organized my little sewing,craft,desk room yet....I have taken out several attack rose bushes bigger than the citrus trees in the back yard..I make sure my 4 green waste and recycler and trash barrels are full every trash day. Maybe in a year or so we will win and have things cleaned up !? We inherited alot of junk and an overgrown jungle yard...such cool challenges !! The roof is very steep peaked...I climbed on it so I could get to the the elm branches on the roof to cut them off !! I am probably getting too old to do that ..Fun times !!

Okay world...we leave the hotel in the morning and our movers are coming to our house..we will not have internet therefore until someone gets us hooked up......for our 35th anniversary we get to play move in.

12:36 p.m. Nov. 6,2009 official notice received

I got the official call..the title was recorded. The old owner felt she had until 5 p.m. so I let her think that and we didn't show up at the house until after that. She left tons of stuff. Nicely lots of it is cleaning supplies..but lots of stuff we don't want...the joys of it all..
She did discover an old wood swing she hung in the back yard..it will need lots of work but I will have to see if that is worth it and if the framing over the patio can actually support it with people on it!!..
For our date we got a new dead bolt for the front door and a new door knob lock for the side garage door and put them on...after dinner with a two for one coupon at Home Town Buffet.
This morning at the temple I got recruited ...would I please be a receptionist the first Friday of each month...they are running low and Sandy Davis in my new ward recognized me and said she lives by me and we can car pool, she recruited me !! How funny is that !!
We are having such GREAT ADVENTURES !!! Oh ya !!!
Guess what world...My second son and his wife are expecting another grandbaby for me !! That will be 12..A. called me and announced it this evening !! So exciting !!

The walk through was today at 4:30.....the lady fixed most everything on the list...actually her realtor's husband did......tomorrow the lady still has to take more stuff out..she had boxes of books out for free...so I got some...The key is in my hot little pocket...

Today I went to the temple......then to the bank to play pass around the $ and send in the escrow $. Then called the utilities to arrange changes. I went to the Realtors to sign an enviornmental disclosure and sign off for the things the lady did get fixed and waived the rest...It isn't worth the hassle and stress to me. I went to Ikea for fun,I didn't find anything I couldn't live without, next door to it is Lowe's where I bought light grey paint and supplies, and a hose and dust mop and don't scratch the hardwood supplies etc....[ because my 10% coupon expires tomorrow]...I have a walk thru tomorrow after 4 at the new house after which I get the key. Saturday is paint and clean day..the movers bring our stuff Monday.

All systems are GO to close escrow Friday !! I could have a snit and hold it all up because they won't fix anything..or I can consider that the ravages of the escrow war and accept that we have some more work to do !! I think that one...dadu's blood pressure is HIGH ...he needs a more stable life. I took dadu to a new airport yesterday..San Diego....so he could spend the week in Oakland. It is not as easy as Ontario but nowhere near as bad ad L.A. !! Today I am going to shop Ross and buy a rug for under the piano when they deliver it Monday...I am not fond of loud music...I am hoping a rug will help absorb some of the sound on a wood floor !! I am guessing rug size ...and piano size...etc...but Tuesday is senior day at Ross and I get 10% off !!

November 1

Went to our new ward today, Escondido 1st. Very friendly. We were invited to dinner after church (1 - 4 pm block). The couple had invited other ward members over so we now know 6 new people. We met with the Bishop after the block and he wanted to know what we had done in the past, callings-wise. Looks like they are going to find something for us to do. I want to count paper clips in the clerk's office.

There we are..guacamole,sour cream and a tortilla...and lettuce, black beans and a tortilla !!! We didn't have much to work with, white hotel towels...they even took our picture there.

Then we went to a ward Halloween party for the Mira mesa ward we attended. Namma did the cake walk and got a lovely, yummy chocolate cake!! [Not supposed to eat chocolate..but I sure did !! ssoooo goood][the esophagus is raw today anyway.}

The rules have changed

Well...as I was signing escrow papers today..I was informed that we are set to close escrow Nov.6th.....................okay...10 day escrow....sheesh !! I will have to reschedule moving trucks and stuff !! a bit of stress here

inspection time

Today at noon the physical inspector from AmeriSpec........my Realtors [husband and wife team] and I showed up at the house and checked it out for a couple of hours to the tune of $375.00..........what we do to feel secure !! It has it's issues..heck, it is 36 years old but basically it is in great shape....We play negotiations now and see if they will fix anything or give $ for it to be fixed or ??? It is being tented Nov. 2 for termites..it was tented in 2003 too...guess it is tasty !! The yard and plants and trees have been ignored big time...it is a jungle around that house !! That should keep us busy for a while. I got another $1.00 meal at Boston Market for dinner... my Realtor gave me another online coupon. She gave me a flyer about a craft fair at the country club that started today...I went to that after the inspection. The house has a BIG attic...if the big air conditioner ducts weren't running all over the place I could make a room up there !!

Dadu is back up in City of Industry this week...the secretary hassled him and said...last year you didn't need a hotel when you worked in Industry...well ya...it was 19 miles from my house...before I had to move to the San Diego area !!! I went to the San Diego Temple this morning..then discovered re-sell row in Poway !!! thrift stores, consignment shops ..like 6 or 7 of them in a row. !!! I got me a great bucket sun hat... brand new.... Scala brand with wire in the big brim for $2.00............I got .10 and .25 silverware...this hotel has 2 of each,knives,forks and spoons...and they are horrid !!! etc.... Having a great time...wish you were here !!! I scheduled the movers to deliver our stuff Nov. 11..........
