There we are..guacamole,sour cream and a tortilla...and lettuce, black beans and a tortilla !!! We didn't have much to work with, white hotel towels...they even took our picture there.

Then we went to a ward Halloween party for the Mira mesa ward we attended. Namma did the cake walk and got a lovely, yummy chocolate cake!! [Not supposed to eat chocolate..but I sure did !! ssoooo goood][the esophagus is raw today anyway.}

The rules have changed

Well...as I was signing escrow papers today..I was informed that we are set to close escrow Nov.6th.....................okay...10 day escrow....sheesh !! I will have to reschedule moving trucks and stuff !! a bit of stress here

inspection time

Today at noon the physical inspector from AmeriSpec........my Realtors [husband and wife team] and I showed up at the house and checked it out for a couple of hours to the tune of $375.00..........what we do to feel secure !! It has it's issues..heck, it is 36 years old but basically it is in great shape....We play negotiations now and see if they will fix anything or give $ for it to be fixed or ??? It is being tented Nov. 2 for termites..it was tented in 2003 too...guess it is tasty !! The yard and plants and trees have been ignored big time...it is a jungle around that house !! That should keep us busy for a while. I got another $1.00 meal at Boston Market for dinner... my Realtor gave me another online coupon. She gave me a flyer about a craft fair at the country club that started today...I went to that after the inspection. The house has a BIG attic...if the big air conditioner ducts weren't running all over the place I could make a room up there !!

Dadu is back up in City of Industry this week...the secretary hassled him and said...last year you didn't need a hotel when you worked in Industry...well ya...it was 19 miles from my house...before I had to move to the San Diego area !!! I went to the San Diego Temple this morning..then discovered re-sell row in Poway !!! thrift stores, consignment shops ..like 6 or 7 of them in a row. !!! I got me a great bucket sun hat... brand new.... Scala brand with wire in the big brim for $2.00............I got .10 and .25 silverware...this hotel has 2 of each,knives,forks and spoons...and they are horrid !!! etc.... Having a great time...wish you were here !!! I scheduled the movers to deliver our stuff Nov. 11..........

This home is spotless,has a newer roof,updated kitchen with newer appliances and counters. Wood floors throughout.

It has one Big greatroom that is family,dining and living room all in one.
It is in front of you when you open the front door !!

The bedrooms are small..12x12....10x12...and 10x11...there is a master bath off the master bedroom and a second one in the hall........each end of the hall has an opening to the greatroom.

The washer and dryer are in a closet in the kitchen nook off of the kitchen...the kitchen nook has a door into the garage.

I will have to like built in appliances.

None of the stuff in the photos is ours...our stuff is in storage..these are the MLS listing pictures.

The back yard is smaller..less yard work.. the side yard on the street is a slope half covered with big trees.

we know nothing..our Realtor knows nothing...we were supposed to know..but it has not happened. we wait some more.

houses I have made offers on

Today I looked for another 4 or 5 hours in East Escondido and made offers on two more houses..one of the ones I offered on the other day was already pending...they just didn't bother to update it..........My son wished to know the MLS numbers on the offers I have made...this one is being decided on Sunday..........these other two are short sales.. and ......................they could take an indefinite amount of time for the banks to cooperate............who knows. Pretty interesting game.!!

It is Thursday

I spent 7 1/2 hours out with my Realtors yesterday.............I put offers on 2 houses..but they are short sales and may take months for the banks to even look at them..and they are in Escondido..the only one I could afford in Poway was a HORRIBLE MAJOR fixer upper that would easily cost at least 50 thousand if I did the work myself !! NOT. There is nothing in Mira Mesa .This morning I am waiting for the bank to open to get proof that we have cash in the bank for a house..and take a deposit check to the Realtors...then I will go hide in the temple...I understand why my mom does !! It keeps your sanity and drops the anxiety level back down to a reasonable level !!

We looked online for a ward around here and picked Mira Mesa first ward that started at 8:30 a.m..........Moving was not as bad as sitting down in church in the right spot and knowing it is not your ward and you don't have that ward any more......I cried, and I am not a cry er.....but by the time church was over they were requesting we buy a house in their ward please .! A woman in R.S. is a realtor and will give me a call tomorrow...We already have a ward list and a dinner invitation from the R.S. president..and I have new friends Martha and Beth and Sandie.....from the ward addresses it appears it is North Mira Mesa which would be close to dadu's work...just the other side of the 15 freeway and down a bit. Life is so interesting !! I also learned face book today and joined...not much else to do today !! Tomorrow I take dadu to work so he can drive a staff car to Santa Barbara...I have decided to stay here and spend my spare time in the temple..I think divine help would be a good idea about now !!

Homeless in San Diego

Okay....so I got a really cool send off party from the Relief Society at a Mexican Restaurant...Lots of people came..even Colleen and Christine and Cynthia R.....I even got cards and some gifts !! Free lunch..........Dadu came to rescue me in the afternoon...he got to help clean up mess as the movers were just leaving...lots of junk boxes in the yard and stuff we were leaving..and 1974 food storage...........we gave it all away and filled the yard waste trash can with the wood and boxes...they can't help but notice since it is about 6 feet taller than the can..all 3 trash cans were overflowing !! Jim said he would take them to the curb Monday and back in empty after Tuesday..he is the best neighbor !! It took from 3 to 7 to clean up the rest of the mess..and take garden stuff to a family in the ward to keep for us..garden boxes wood and chicken wire and propane tank and gas can...........they said, sure no problem...that ensures that they get to see us again !! Mom took 2 car fulls to her garage...plants, gallons of water, a garage light, all these aerosol cans of stuff, the car stuff, paint stuff, insecticides.............that kind of stuff...that ensures she sees us again too !!
This morning we went and did a temple session...we need some divine assistance and the temple is about 10 minutes away from our studio suite.....suite is such a cool word...this place is not...it is small living room size...dark as a cave and no security sheers...so I bought a white fabric shower curtain and hooked it up beside the curtains so we can pull the curtain over and tie it and white covers the window and we have light !! We are having a swell time ..!?!?!?!

I forgot to take a picture of the very heavy, very loaded flatbed truck behind the semi cab as it left today...It had 7 huge wooden pods on it full of STUFF !! We haven't even got to the actual living stuff yet !! Our second truck comes tomorrow...this is going to cost us a fortune...the guesstimates were WWWWWWWWWWWWaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy under.............AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHhhh

Okay.........I have a house full of boxes and they have started packing the garage too. Four very effecient guys from Ace Worldwide blew in this morning with the rain and got to work... Tomorrow they start loading and continue packing..then, Friday they finish it all up......the fridge and freezers are empty...I gave it all to a friend who always helps when we need it ..[.Gordon..].My daughter-in-law's mom brought me lunch today, we will miss each other..she is a true friend, and we enjoy each other !!... Two other friends took me out to dinner !! I am suddenly so popular...Another called tonight to take dadu and I out to dinner this weekend...sorry, we leave Friday evening after he gets off work in San Diego and comes and picks me up....oh ya, Relief Society is having an open lunch at a Mexican place for me Friday at noon....I tell ya !!.SUCH ADVENTURES !!

Well.........everything moved fast...this Wednesday we get packed..on Thursday and maybe Friday we get it loaded on a truck...on Saturday it gets stored..On Friday Bill drives back to get me and I call to have final readings on the utilities..then we are officially homeless...all the next week he has to be in Santa Barbara....I may just drive up there myself and stay with him in a nice hotel for the week..he'll be staying by Solvang..
It is supposed to rain here tomorrow and Wednesday....
SUCH ADVENTURES...I TELL YA...

Friday the STUFF surveyor came and looked and counted and guesstimated and thinks we have 20 thousand pounds of stuff and they will take all but the chemically kinds of things...we would just have to pay the over 18 thousands pounds stuff...he had no idea how much that would be...the company is supposed to get a hold of us to tell us how soon they can move us....dadu came home this weekend because we had to get stuff notarized and get it sent in...and we are out of here.....Monday is a holiday though so everything is slowed down there...
Today my mom and a family in the ward are coming to dinner..Hawaiian haystacks...so everyone can make it how they like it.....my mom's birthday is next Saturday...I just don't know what I will be doing then...so she gets her ice cream and present today.
FUN STUFF...

Today the termite guy treated the rafter...I patched the little holes before my last activity girls meeting today....tomorrow I can paint it. I reluctantly washed all the grandchildren's chalk art off the driveway today..after I mopped the sticky floors.
The relocation people want to know when we are leaving..everything is done..except tomorrow is the first appointment we could get for our moving surveyor to come...so...as soon as they can move us is when we leave...and we have a 10 foot truck size storage space available in Pico Rivera we can put what they won't take in ,for now..[.where they moved out Dadu's mom's stuff so his sister could take it to Utah to sort] his brother's stuff is in the other part of the storge unit. This escrow went really fast....prayer really helps !! This is RATHER exciting !!! No, we have no house...we are going to look with cash as soon as I get down there..cash floats you to the top of the pile I understand..hey...the good Lord has gotten us to this point this fast..so I am certain he will get the next part solved too !!
I drove to the Redlands temple this morning only to discover it is closed again...I have done that before...you would think I would go online and look before I drive !! I did have to return crochet hooks to the homegoods center so the trip was not a total waste of time.

Hip Hip Hooray.......the buyer's Bank of America appraisal came up the same amount as the house sold for..so basically escrow is just about done.....early..............now we just have to get the termite guy over here to solve the $390.00 spot treatment in a rafter...{they know when they have ya}...and Friday the moving surveyor comes to evaluate out junk....and the weight factor...and what they can't take..and ,when they can move us and we get the rest of the stuff moved..we are out of here !! Homeless !! soon !! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH. So exciting !!

It has been a weekend both too long and too short. All of our children and their families have been with us this weekend. They all came in per Grandma Grumpy's last request that all gather for her funeral. Likewise my brothers and sisters and their families were also down for the funeral. We have renewed friendships. We have strengthened family bonds. We have laughed and cried. We have experienced spiritual moments that are hard to explain, but we have experienced and testified of those significant moments. We have had a full house. It has been noisy, congested, cluttered, and wonderful. I and A flew home this morning. J and A and their girls left about 7:30 am. M and S and their boys left about 8:30 am. N and A and their family leave tomorrow. S and A leave Tuesday morning. The house will be very empty.

This was a final time for them to be in the home in which they grew up. We have to submit to the relocation company tomorrow a vacate date. We still need to have the moving company give us an assessment of what they will and will not move.

I say "Thank you, I love you" to my dear mother. I thank my brothers and sisters, who with our parents, made so many memories which have been spoken of and pondered on through the past week. I thank my wife and children for their love and support and the memories we have shared. And I am so grateful for God, my Eternal Father and His Son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Restored Gospel. I am grateful for the plan of salvation and for the promise of eternal life and eternal families. May all friends and family realize these promises.
